About jamie

Jamie has worked as a fundraising professional in New York City, London and Connecticut for 25 years. She was appointed as an adjunct professor for New York University's George H. Heyman, Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising. Jamie is also a principal with Constellation Advancement, a consulting practice of six separately organized fundraising consultancy firms. 

Prior to launching JRA, Jamie lived in London and worked for Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in development. Before moving to London, Jamie was the Campaign Director for PAVE Academy Charter School’s $12 million capital campaign. Previously, she served as Director of Major Gifts at Harlem Children’s Zone, the Associate Director of Major Gifts at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College during the $1 billion campaign, Director of Sponsorship for Student Sponsor Partners, Development Manager for Central Park Conservancy and Fundraising Director for a congressional campaign in South Carolina.

Jamie is a coach and facilitator. In 2019, she launched Tide Risers in Connecticut, a year-long cohort experience for women leaders. She is also an active volunteer. While in London, she was on the Board of Governors at Christ Church School and was the Chair of the Capital Campaign Committee at Kensington Preparatory School. Jamie was a Founding Board member and the Chair of the Development Committee of PAVE Academy Charter School. She also annually interviews finalists for the Robertsons Scholars Leadership Program at Duke University. Jamie serves on the Greenwich Country Day School “GCDS First” campaign cabinet committee. Jamie graduated from Duke and lives in Greenwich, Connecticut with her husband and three daughters.

Ali Donovan

Principal Consultant, JRA

ABOUT ALI

Ali Donovan is a collaborative leader with more than 15 years of experience engaging partners, building teams, and operationalizing strategy to drive rapid growth at organizations across sectors. 

Ali holds a BA in Economics from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she was a Public Service Scholar, and lives in Winston-Salem, NC with her dog, Stevie.

Previously, she worked as an independent consultant focused on new and/or rapidly growing organizations. As a trusted thought-partner to Founders, CEOs, and leadership teams, Ali has stood up new programs, improved team effectiveness, and increased revenue for clients such as the Latino Community Foundation, SkillUp, Springboard Collaborative, and ClimbHire. 

Currently the Director of Development at Wake Forest’s Program for Leadership & Character, Ali is working closely with partners to raise a $50M endowment to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Program. 

  • From 2015 - 2020, Ali was a member of the founding team at NationSwell, a B-corporation helping leaders and organizations take their impact to the next level with purpose and credibility. Ali set and socialized strategy as a member of the Leadership Team as NationSwell grew from 7 to 40+ colleagues.  As a Senior Vice President, she built and guided a 17-person team that managed the NationSwell Council.

    Prior to NationSwell, she worked for five years at PAVE Academy Charter School - a community public charter school in Brooklyn - as the organization’s first dedicated development professional, eventually becoming Chief Development and Talent Officer. At PAVE, Ali collaborated closely with PAVE’s Executive Director to close a $12 million capital campaign t. She was instrumental in developing and implementing PAVE’s comprehensive fundraising strategy, working closely with the Board of Trustees to increase the organization’s annual fundraising revenue from $250,000 to $3+ million. Ali also built and managed a structured recruitment process that identified and hired more than 100 educators across programs.

Blythe Smith

ABOUT BLYTHE

Blythe Smith has worked in non-profit fundraising for over 20 years. Before consulting, Blythe led development efforts at Tipping Point Community, a Bay Area version of the Robin Hood Foundation.

She worked closely with the Founder and CEO, and Board members to develop and execute aggressive fundraising growth ($450K to $20M over a period of six years). Blythe launched the organization’s first-ever Leadership Council, working to create a meaningful experience for this important subset of supporters.  

Prior to Tipping Point, Blythe ran a $13M capital campaign for the Katherine Delmar Burke School, an all-girls’ independent school in San Francisco.  She worked closely with the steering committee and head of school to successfully achieve each campaign phase goal . Upon completion of the campaign, Blythe stayed on to help oversee the school’s Centennial Celebration and to bolster alumnae engagement. 

Blythe holds a BA from the University of Virginia and lives in Southport, CT with her husband and three children. 

Liz Duffy

About Liz

Liz Duffy is the Director of the Annual Fund and Alumni Relations at Greenwich Country Day School (GCDS), her alma mater.   

As a Director in the GCDS Development office, Liz manages fundraising efforts across more than 5,000 constituents and implements programming and events for all alumni. 

Prior to GCDS, Liz worked at Tiger Foundation in New York City.  As Program Officer, she conducted comprehensive due diligence for grant renewals and new grant requests within the foundation’s funding areas  of education, employment, youth and families, and criminal justice. 

Liz received her Bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and her MPA from NYU. Liz lives in Greenwich, CT with her husband and two children.
